In 1943 Jack Twohey opened his first Twoheys, a 37 seat restaurant on Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena. Twohey's quickly became known for serving up the finest hamburgers, onion rings and hand-dipped fountain specialties in the San Gabriel Valley.

The Little Stink-O with the clothspin and tears logo was trademarked after a woman exclaimed, "Oh stinko!", when a gentleman seated next to her was served a hamburger generously garnished with pickles and onions.
